One of the difficulties I've had with Christian literature, since I became a Christian some years ago now, is in finding writings about how to find God and dwell in his presence and how to understand this holy encounter.
These writings attempt to provide some help to people who have endured the same lack. It does so in an unusual style. I've selected this style or it has selected me because, I think, it gets at the way in which the mind and heart (both aspects of one's soul) grope their way toward experience and an understanding of this experience. This groping apprehension and attempted comprehension of the world feels haphazard in life, but there is structure that emerges if one is patient. That emerges with sufficient time and attention. My hope is that you will find the same true of these writings.
My method is poetical and prosaical, because both modes are needed in an endeavor such as this. Poetry is the heart's means and prose is the mind's means of understanding human experience.
Finally, my approach periodically employs humor, because we are all a little silly if we really believe we have a prayer of comprehending what happens when we encounter God.
